Mountain Dew

They call it that good old mountain dew,
And them that refuse it are few.
I'll shut up my mug if you fill up my jug
With that good old mountain dew.

My Uncle Mort, he's short and stout;
He measures only four foot two.
But he thinks he's a giant if you give him a pint
Of that good old mountain dew.

My Uncle Bill has a still on the hill
Where he brews up a gallon or two,
And the birds in the sky get so drunk they can't fly
On that good old mountain dew.

The preacher came by with a tear in his eye;
Said his daughter caught a touch of the flu.
We told him that he ought to give the girl a snort
Of that good old mountain dew.

My Auntie June had some sweet perfume—
It had a funny-smelling "pew!"
We were mighty surprised when they had it analyzed
And they found it was that good old mountain dew.

The preacher came by; he was flyin' mighty high,
Said his wife had the flu.
He ran around the bend and he came back again
With a keg of that good old mountain dew.

Zippy climbed aboard that Greyhound with a hoard
Of that precious homemade brew.
And he clanged and he clanked as he smuggled those tanks
Of that good old mountain dew.
